A committee looking for a new Jefferson Parish, Louisiana school superintendent has come up with a list of four finalists for the top job in the 50,000-student public school system.

The four are:

  • Paul Emenes - executive director of Jefferson Parish's east bank schools.

  • Janet McLin - a former Jefferson instruction director, who now is superintendent in Meridian, but retiring as of June 30.

  • Diane Roussel - Jefferson Parish's executive director of instruction.

  • Sharon Wegner - Jefferson Parishs' adult education director.

The board could hire a new superintendent as early as Wednesday night, to replace Elton Lagasse, who was hired in 1994 and plans to retire in June.
