More than a dozen Hurricane Katrina victims from Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama have filed the lawsuit. It accuses the federal government of denying them temporary housing assistance.
The lawsuits ask for class action status. It seeks to make FEMA immediately provide trailers or other housing for evacuees who are still staying in shelters.
It also asks that victims with larger families receive more money.
