Newscenter 11 has been reporting for weeks about burn bans in Lauderdale and surrounding counties due to lack of rainfall and dry conditions.
Now, the Alabama Forestry Commission has issued a "red flag warning" to all 67 counties there.
Officials say the potential for wildfire is greatest in all of north and central Alabama.
Although no emergency order has been issued, foresters are pleading with residents to delay outdoor burning until measurable rain has fallen.
Since Oct. 1, fire crews have battled more than 1,200 wildfires in Alabama. So far, 119 wildfires have been recorded since the beginning of November.
