Internet Attack

The computer attack that struck the Internet over the weekend is still having an impact as people return to work Monday.

But the problems are nowhere near the crippling level they reached Saturday, when the Internet was disrupted worldwide.

Monday, security experts saw a slight increase in the attacks as work days began in Asia, Europe and the U.S.

Meanwhile, experts are still trying to learn the origin of the computer "worm," which is like a virus.

The disruptions appeared in Hong Kong first, but investigators now say that doesn't necessarily mean it originated there.

A Hong Kong consultant said it's like finding which part of a river a drop of water comes from.

A spokeswoman for President Bush's infrastructure protection board said it can take weeks, months and even years to analyze the data. And even then, she said we may never know.
