Meridian Police Chief Benny Dubose said Monday that an explanation was given to the Rev. Anderson Nash as to why a police officer stopped his vehicle Friday night and pulled a gun on him.
The incident happened near Eastern Gardens Apartments when officers were involved in a foot chase with a man they saw get into a car with another person.
Officers stopped Nash's car nearby and when he got out of the vehicle and approached them, a gun was pulled.
Chief Dubose said that's standard procedure.
Nash said he was stopped without cause and was not given a reason why.
