With food and gas prices continuing to rise, L.O.V.E.'s Kitchen has seen a large increase in visitors coming to eat.
It now serves more people than ever during the summer months, especially children.
A dinner shift is being added to deal with the increased demand for meals.
Board member Al Brown said that will not stop L.O.V.E.'s Kitchen from feeding hungry people.
"Energy costs are up, times are tight, but we persevere with the help of the community and we will continue to do that," said Brown. "We're not going to turn someone away that's hungry, and we are not going to do that. We never have and we won't. We want to encourage people to come to the kitchen, and bring what they can bring to the kitchen."
The kitchen serves hundreds of meals each day to anyone who needs something to eat.

A large chunk of the people that Love's Kitchen feeds are City of Meridian employees or have nicer vehicles than the majority of people who donate the food to them. I have no problem with feeding people who genuinely cannot afford the cost of a meal but when you can afford to pay $350-$400 a month for a vehicle note and wear designer clothes, someones priorities are out of order. This is the main reason several people I know refuse to donate to Love's any longer.
