Gov. Ronnie Musgrove has asked Mississippians to join in a moment of silence at 7:59 a.m. Tuesday, in remembrance of the crew of the Space Shuttle Columbia.

Musgrove said the moment of silence will be, "in remembrance of those heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice, and the families and loved ones of the crew who grieve their loss."

Over the weekend, the governor ordered all flags to be flown at half-staff until Wednesday.

The Columbia broke apart over Texas Feb. 1, just minutes before its scheduled landing in Florida.

Debris from the shuttle has been found in Texas and Louisiana.
