Meridian, Miss.

Meridian police say they're investigating a report from a Wayne County, Miss., woman that she was kidnapped there Friday morning and brought to Meridian.

Police say the woman told them her car broke down in Wayne County, then two men approached her, with one taking her by force.

Authorities say it was several hours later when the suspect and victim turned up in the parking lot of the Highway 19 Wal-Mart in Meridian.

Investigators say the woman called police and reported she had been kidnapped. Capt. Dean Harper says the man and woman rode around for several hours before ending up in Meridian around noon. Police in Meridian and Wayne County are searching for the driver of the car.

"The suspect is described as a white male, about 6 feet tall, 180 pounds, dark hair and a beard, very dirty. Also, wearing a black t-shirt with some kind of writing on it," Harper said.

Harper says officials are also seeking information about the second man who approached the woman, but did not actually get in the car.

Police say the woman who was kidnapped was not injured.

If you have any information that might help investigators, you may report it to Meridian Crimestoppers at 601-485-1860.
