Oakland Heights fifth grade teacher Ronnie Shumaker received a grant from BellSouth for over $1,000 to enhance his class curriculum through innovative projects.
The grant--titled "Egg-celent Egg-quations"-- will expose students to areas of agriculture outside the classroom setting.
"It means a lot for me, but a lot more for the children, because this allows me to come up with projects that I can teach across the curriculum with," said Shumaker.
This is the seventh consecutive year Shumaker has received the award.
