Gas Prices Spike

Gas prices locally are rising. The cost of a gallon of unleaded rose from $1.47 to $1.59 in the last 24 hours in the Meridian area.

Motorists took notice.

"I've got all my bills and everything, and the gas prices are affecting my bills," said one customer at a convenience store on 8th Street.

"I think they are ridiculous. They are too much. That's too much," said another.

If war breaks out with Iraq, gas prices are expected to rise further.
