DYW Preliminary Winners Announced

Meridian, Mississippi It's getting down to the wire for Distinguished Young Women from across the state of Mississippi.

The mood at the Temple Theater in Meridian was a little more serious Friday night than it was Thursday night. That's because the judges narrowed down the list of contestants.

The program started the same way it did Thursday night with a special dance routine. What was different was the candidates that took part in the talent competition Thursday night, took part in the fitness and self-expression competition Friday night, and vice versa. Organizers admit it's getting to the nerve wracking part of the experience.
