2003 Forecast

Some questions about the future of our economy were answered at Community Bank's Economic and Market Forecast luncheon.

Stacey wall, president and CEO of Pinnacle Trust, told members of the Meridian financial community that he expects only small growth in the economy this year.

"The economy is still sound. It's not growing as fast as I'd like it to be," said Wall. "It's still sound and I don't think we'll be experiencing another recession like people are forecasting this year."

Wall said one of the primary reasons for the slow growth is consumer debt, which causes a decrease in overall spending.
