Thirty-eight-year-old Jerry Wayne Ramey of Meridian has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Alabama.

He's accused of using interstate travel to have sex with a minor and for allegedly using a computer to attempt to entice the child to engage in illegal sex acts.

The indictment charges that Ramey traveled from Meridian to Shelby County, Ala., along the interstate to find the child.

If convicted on all counts, Ramey would face 60 years in prison and a fine of $500,000.

The case is being prosecuted by the U.S. attorney of the Northern District of Alabama.
