Runoff Set in Newton

A special runoff election will be held next week in Newton. Voting Tuesday failed to produce an outright winner for the Ward 3 seat on the Board of Aldermen.
Here are the results of balloting on Feb. 18.
- Jerry Collier - 32
- Lashunda Love - 20
- Eric McCalphia - 67
- Eva McDonald - 61
The runoff will be between Eric McCalphia and Eva McDonald on Tuesday, Feb. 25. The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The position has been vacant since the death of Alderman Charles Love last month.
