Brown Expands

Brown Bottling Company Monday cut the ribbon on its new office and distribution center at Sonny Montgomery Industrial Park.

Brown, distributor of Pepsi and other bottled drinks, has been looking forward to a new home for about 15 years, according to a top company official.

"It means we're ready to handle the present needs. We're also ready for the future," said executive vice-president Gene Naylor. "We're committed to the future of Meridian and we're committed to the future of east Mississippi and west Alabama. This has been a good area for us and we're looking forward to growth in the future."

Naylor estimated the new facility would create 10 to 15 new jobs.
