Hines Appeal Rejected by Court

Kenneth Hines

Jackson, Miss.
The Mississippi Court of Appeals has upheld the convictions of a Union man charged in sex crimes involving two children.

A Neshoba County jury convicted Kenneth M. Hines in 2012 of statutory rape and sexual battery.

Hines was tried as a habitual offender because he had three previous felony convictions. He was given two consecutive life sentences.

The appeals court rejected Hines' arguments of a defective indictment and that prosecutors didn't prove his guilt.
