Meridian officials say Saturday's Christmas parade will go on as scheduled. They say they hope rain won't be a major factor.
The parade begins at 5 p.m. in downtown.
The parade will cap off a full day of events downtown.
The Merry Meridian Market is 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., inside and outside the MSU Riley Center. Santa will visit from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
The United Way Jingle Bell Run starts at 9 a.m.
Peppermint Pops will be presented at the MSU Riley Center Saturday night starting at 7:00.
Tickets for premium seating is $25 per person; general seating, $20; students and military, $10.
Appearing with the Meridian Symphony Orchestra will be the Meridian Symphony Chorus & the Cambiata Singers,
with guest soprano Sewell Griffith.
