Relay for Life

Wednesday organizers for Lauderdale County's Relay for Life held a press conference to release details about this year's event. It will be held June 6 at Ray Stadium. Organizers say they hope to raise even more money than last year.

"We raised $395,000 last year and so this year we're reaching for $400,000. Without a doubt, I think it can be done. so, we're working hard for that," said one organizer.

Money raised at the event will be used to fund cancer research. More than 130 teams are expected to take part this year. The first team meeting will be held March 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at Anderson Hospital.
