Tia Faye Anderson was crowned the 2008-2009 Choctaw Princess Wednesday night. The pageant is the traditional kickoff to the Choctaw Indian Fair.
Anderson was among sixteen young ladies who competed to represent the Choctaw.
Each contestant competes in four categories: formal dress, traditional dress, speech and interview.
According to the Web site of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, the title holds many responsibilities. Anderson will travel and represent the tribe around the country at various functions.
Anderson will be an ambassador for the Choctaw Tribe for the next twelve months.

All the girls in the pageant this year did a really great job, but I do have to admit Tia stood out more than anybody. She worked hard to get what she wanted, and I honestly believe she deserved it. What you see in Tia is what you get! She is as sweet as can be and will be a great representative for the tribe. Kudos to Brittany and Tamela on their accomplishments as well!

Why??? why is all this drama going on about this??? she won fair and square people!!! She was the best fit to take the crown this year!!! All the other contestants were not put through the training she had to go through..so..go figure!!! They werent put through the public speaking..with speeches.. and all the other training..so everybody just chill on the drama!!! Have you ever thought that she stayed in the same hotel with the reigning princess and the judges because THATS THE ONLY HOTEL ON THE REZ!!! Yeah lets just go put a princess contestant in a hotel outside the tribe on the night before the pageant..well yeah thats a bright idea. People..you need to think about things before you have any input on something.. get the facts straight then figure out what you want to do or say..in this case..you shouldnt be saying anything at all..just be happy for Tia..i know i am..why cant you all do the same thing..God Bless You Tia and remember..If Something Happens..Its Happens For A Reason!!!

To Tia, I pray that she always has the heart to forgive foolishness like this, the wisdom to overlook other's jealousy, hate, and ignorance, and the knowledge to to know that not everyone is this pety. She is a wonderful young lady, who anyone with half a mind frame could not help but to like if they took even a minute to get to know. I will have to say I'm very happy she won, because I don't think there was anyone better for the role, and to Tia whenever you feel like things like this may get the best of you remember * God Bless * Smile Always
