Prison After Care

Victory Outreach Ministries is beginning a new program in prisons.

The Rev. John Sweeney told the Meridian Rotary Club Monday that the "Prison After Care Focus" would help ex-offenders prepare for life in the workplace.

"Our purpose is to take them and bridge the gap between prison and the workplace by providing food, shelter, and clothing," said Rev. Sweeney, "and job assistance and those type things."

Sweeney said it takes a community working together to help bring ex-prisoners back into the society and that can reduce the chances of someone returning to prison.
