Raising the Bar

When it comes to graduation requirements, students at Meridian High School have options.

Assistant Principal Cheryl Thomas told the school board Monday that Meridian High goes beyond what the state requires for graduation. She outlined the plans.

"And one thing we have in place is three separate diplomas for our students graduating from Meridian High School," said Thomas. "We have a basic diploma, a standard diploma, and a scholar’s diploma. Basic is 22 credits, standard is 26 and the scholars diploma is 28."

The school board also recognized local arts and reading fair winners.
