Neshoba County officials say they are hoping the so-called "go zone" legislation will help them lure more tourism and industry to the area.
The county has a spec building it has built in its industrial park. Officials say thanks to the hurricane-related incentives four different companies have already expressed interest in locating there.
Officials who will help disburse go-zone related incentives were in Neshoba County Wednesday to talk with community and business leaders.
Here are a few things the go zone legislation allows:
Major tax incentives for new businesses to locate in the hurricane zone;
Incentives for cleanup and repair of existing businesses;
New, low interest bonds can now also be issued by the state to help existing and new businesses in the state;
There are also incentives for businesses that were closed who managed to retain their employees during that time.
