Lauderdale County, Miss. Lauderdale County authorities are on the lookout for a man accused of flashing motorists. Within the last three weeks two reports have been made to the sheriff's department about a young to middle aged white male allegedly removing his clothes and flashing female motorists.
The first incident reported to the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department happened the night of Mar. 11. It involved a motorist who told authorities she was being followed by a man driving a truck as she left a business near the interstate in the Russell area.
The female says the driver taunted her by speeding up, and darting in front of her and slowing down repeatedly. It was when she got on Highway 45 that she saw the driver pulled over on the side of the highway with all of his clothes removed flashing her as she passed him.
"We don't know for sure that he even lives in our community," said Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun. "He may be coming here from an adjoining state, or from another county and putting the tag back on his vehicle and driving back home. So, we don't know for sure anything other than what we've given out to the media at this time."
Another motorist reported a similar incident last week near the Kewanee exit. Authorities say the person could face misdemeanor charges. Motorists are advised to report any suspicious activity by calling 911.
The suspect's vehicle is described as a late-model, 4-door Chevy truck, silver or gray in color. It may also have tinted windows. When the two incidents occurred investigators say the tag had been removed.
