Newton County authorities are continuing an investigation into a string of burglaries near Chunky.

In the last month or so nearly a dozen families have fallen victim to a home burglary in Newton County.

Some of those were in the eastern part of the county and arrests have been made.

But nine in the Pleasant Ridge community near Chunky have gone unsolved to this point. However, Sheriff Jackie Knight said he believes an arrest will be made soon.

Each of the nine break-ins in the Pleasant Ridge community appear to be related. Items such as televisions and DVD players, jewelry and guns have been stolen from the homes.
