Meridian Hits Fourth Homicide

At 9:45 p.m. Wednesday night Meridian police responded to a report of a shooting.

The incident happened at the 1400 block of 28th Avenue. Detective Dean Harper explained what officials believe happened.

"There they found a subject who had been shot. He was transported to the hospital," said Harper. "His sister has been arrested and charged with manslaughter. The victim has been identified as George Russell. His sister is the person we've arrested is identified as Tiffany Russell. Bond has been set at $25,000."

This is the fourth murder in Meridian so far this year. There were only three total for last year.
