A 23-year-old Pickens County man is behind bars after he was accused of his trying to kill his infant daughter.

Jack E. Hayden, Jr., of Reform, Ala., was charged with attempted murder Monday.

Sheriff's investigators said Jasmine Hayden suffered skull and brain injuries June 13. The baby was airlifted to Children's Hospital in Birmingham, where she remains.

Pickens County District Attorney Chris McCool said Hayden was placed in the county jail on $500,000 bond.
