The first weekend of the Gardner Estate Auction wrapped up Sunday in Choctaw.
Roy Gardner left an estate valued at over one million dollars to the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. Two thousand lots from that estate are being auctioned off, partly to build a museum in Gardner's honor.
"He had acquired several thousand pieces of art and art glass, silver, antiques, so on and so forth. And today we're finalizing the first weekend," said Randy Wingfield of Wingfield Auctions. " We have another weekend coming up."
The second weekend of the auction will be April 21st through the 23rd. Items are also available on line at liveauctioneers.com.
