MPD Makes Arrests

Meridian police detectives have charged a suspect with armed robbery and aggravated assault in an incident in early March.

Marquise Cole, 22, is accused of trying to rob a woman on 3rd Avenue.

"This stems from an incident on the 7th of March where a lady was walking home from the store in the Tuxedo area and she was shot in the stomach," said Meridian detective Dean Harper. "She is recovering at a local hospital. His bond has been set at $20,000 per charge."

Harper also said a separate suspect, Tracy Cole, has been charged with the statutory rape of a 15-year-old girl. His bond has been set at $40,000.
