A scholarship in memory of longtime faculty member Thomas Thrash has been established at East Central Community College in Decatur.
The Newton native died last September while serving as chairman of the social science, education and business division.
Thrash had been with East Central since 1962.
The recipient of the annual scholarship will be announced on awards day each spring semester.
