WTOK Garners A.P. Awards

WTOK-TV received three awards at the 2005 Mississippi Associated Press Broadcasters Association Convention. The awards included a first place for general news story, a second place in public affairs reporting, and a third place for its sportscast.

Highlighting the evening was the Associated Press Hall of Fame induction, now in its second year. WTOK news director John Johnson was tapped for the hall of fame, along with WLOX-TV news director Dave Vincent, longtime TV personality and host of Look Around Mississippi, Walt Grayson, longtime sportscaster and director of the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame, Michael Rubinstein and the late Howard Lett, an icon in public broadcasting.
