The United Way honored its agency of the month Tuesday at the Wesley House.
The organization was presented with a check for $108,000. Wesley House executive director Nell Grissom said that getting this money from the United Way means more than usual because this year has been busier for the Wesley House.
"It's hard to really express what this money means because when you see the need we see out here, and you have to turn people away. This makes a difference in life and death sometimes," said Grissom.
The United Way supports all of its 16 partner agencies with monthly financial contributions.
