BellSouth officials have presented Meridian Community College with a check for $10,000. Officials with BellSouth say this is part of a statewide effort.

"Mississippi's community college system is one of the best in the state. The community college system also produces potential employees for BellSouth. So, we decided to donate to all community college's in the state in support of their efforts to provide us with new workers," said BellSouth representative C.D. Smith.

This year BellSouth will present $10,000 to each of the 15 community colleges in the state.
