A U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement official says agents have targeted a manufacturing plant in Laurel.

Temple Black, an ICE spokesman in New Orleans, says "a law enforcement action" was taken at Howard Industries Inc. in Laurel.

Howard Industries Inc. produces dozens of products, ranging from electrical transformers to medical supplies, according to the company's website.

A recording at Howard Industries on Monday said the telephone switchboard was closed. A man who answered a phone call from The Associated Press at the company's security station said "no" and hung up when asked if there was anyone available to discuss what had happened.

Later on Monday, ICE officials confirmed that about 350 suspected illegal immigrants were taken into custody.

I think they should deport them all. We should not have to pay more money for spanish signage or translators. The hispanics need to learn to speak english before coming to the US. We (Americans) should not have to change the way our country conducts business to make it easier for them to be here illegally.
