A Meridian school bus wrecked around 3:30 p.m. Friday, as it traveled south on Highway 11. Students were on board.
The bus and a van heading north apparently sideswiped each other, sending the bus down an embankment. Luckily, the bus did not flip.
"The students are a little excited and because of the fact that we do not know exactly how they are, we are going to make sure that we take them to the hospital and have them all checked out then released to parents," said Public Safety Director, Dr. Sam Thompson.
All parents had been notified about the mishap.
