Meridian Public Schools, Lauderdale County Schools, Leake County Schools and Newton County Schools will be open Tuesday.

Philadelphia and Neshoba County Schools have canceled classes for Tuesday. Also Heidelberg Academy is closed.

All Choctaw Indian schools are also canceled, according to Miko Beasley Denson.

ican't wait to go to school 2morrow and get an edcation and take the writting asmebley and let it back to the state board check it and also learn some new stuff.

Don't you think the school districts should put out the word? Wouldn't the tv people put it on if they knew? School folks just didn't want to interrupt their holiday to take care of business! I'm not a student there but I looked at MCC's website at midnight--no information at all. Checked a couple of school websites in the area--nothing! Would it have killed the schools to post on their sites or call radio and tv?

I am a student at MCC in Meridian, MS. I was just wandering if there might happen to be an announcement that will be made on the radio stations in the morning... what time do those most likely occur? and is there a specific time that the news will change regarding the schools opening or closing because I know it is said to get worse tomorrow and students, like myself are drinving a pretty good ways to class each morning between 6-8AM... Thanks.
