Everybody has moved to the county from the city of Meridian. There are only a few nice neighborhoods left in the city....WHY IN THE WORLD...would CRAZY supervisors want to puT dumpsters right next to these beautiful homes. It is a CITY neighborhood....and let me tell you....THEY PAY ALOT more taxes than the county & they should not have DUMPSTERS put in their back yards !!! We pay for city garbage pick-up & more for our tags...etc..It cost alot to live in the city.Does the city of Meridian not have PRIDE in their neighborhoods. The streets are awful.. Lets take care of the WONDERFUL CITIENS of the Meridian City Limits...we live IN MERIDIAN....because WE LOVE MERIDIAN. Hank Florey didn't do anything to stop the dumpsters until citizens came forward...who is looking out for us???? the supervisors should be ashame...city of Meridian should be ashame...Please lets keep the CITY OF MERIDIAN clean & a safe place for our children to grow. Thank you.
Actually, Hank Florey did not give citizens an opportunity to voice their concerns. The citizens were notified of the green boxes and began complainting with phone calls, emails, etc. He knew that a residential area was 2/10 of a mile from the proposed dump site and had planned to put them there until the citizens found out. His creditability is negative in my opinion. Yet, thanks for listening to the citizens.
I respect Hank Florey for listening to his constituents. When Craig Hitt moved the dumpster site from Hwy 19N & State Blvd Ext. to Hookston Rd., a desolate road in a swamp, he did it without informing the public and at a huge cost to county taxpayers. After being there for 20 years, one day the dumpsters were there and the next day they were gone. He said, when asked, that there was no law that he had to give advance notice to the public. Of course, by not informing the people, he didn't have to deal with complaints until after the fact and what was done could not be undone. Mr. Florey listened to the people who use the boxes and pay for that use. Mr. Hitt appears to be oblivious to the wants and needs of voters and taxpayers. We need more supervisors like Hank Florey who actually work for the people and take into consideration the wants and needs of the taxpayers.
It sure is nice when the peoples voice is heard. Thanks alot Hank Florey for listening to the people in your district! We need more people in government like Mr. Florey!!
Craig Hitt would not listen to complaints about where to put dumpsters in his district.
HAPPY FOR THOSE RESIDENTS.WE WERE NOT GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO VOICE OUR OPINION.OUR GREEN DUMPSTERS USE TO BE ACCROSS FROM THE EVANGEL TEMPLE FOR 30 YEARS.THEY ARE NOW WAY UP THE HIGHWAY-ON A GRAVEL RD THAT IS WAY OFF THE ROAD.MY 73 YEAR OLD MOTHER HAS TO GO WAY UP HWY ON A SECLUDED ROAD TO TAKE HER GARBAGE.WISH WE HAD THE CHANCE TO APPEAL.SOME GROUPS OF PEOPLE ARE LUCKIER THAN OTHERS.
What about Bailey residents who keep getting their dumpsters taken away from them, I have to keep going 7 miles out of my way to the nearest dumpster??? so unfair!
I can't believe that just because some people who live near Windmill Road doesn't want the green box in sight of their subdivision that the supervisors would change their mind. Is it so hard for the supervisors to understand that no one wants the green boxes. I do not live in the city but I do live in a very nice subdivision and I have to look at these boxes everyday. Bottom line these north Meridian people are not any better than I am. Something need to be done about the green boxes. Supervisors need to get off their butts.
The board is nothing but a bunch idiots making stupid decision led by a crooked old fool.
I can not believe that Hank would do such a crazy thing. I am just in disbelief that my supervisor would move a green box sight into the city in full view of Windmill Road. Remember Hank, MOST of your voters live IN THE CITY!!! I think we need a new supervisor. (One with a brain)!!!
