The committee leading the search for a new Mississippi Valley State University president will narrow the field to five candidates during a meeting on Tuesday.
The MVSU Search Advisory Committee will sort through all the contenders< resumes and qualifications.
All or some of the five picked by the 22-member group will then be interviewed by the state College Board Committee chair, Moses Newsome, said applications were still coming in as of last week. Newsome said the names of the candidates will not be released.
The new president will be responsible for managing a $42 million budget and more than 500 full-time employees. MVSU has been without a permanent president since Lester Newman resigned last June.
