School Donation

Tuesday Doctor Ronnye Purvis presented a $3,000 donation to Witherspoon Elementary. School officials say the money will be put to good use.

"As you have heard over and over again, 'It takes a village to raise a child.' Just having local businesses and people like Dr. Purvis come in and assume the position of helping make our children's learning experience what it is, is just astronomical," said Principal Brenda Edwards.

"There's always been someone there to help me and I find that when we're in a position to give, it's important to remember those behind you," said Dr. Purvis.

School officials say the donation will be used to help fund 30 students upcoming trip to Disney World.
