Flags flew at half-staff in central Alabama this week as residents mourned the loss of Troy, Ala., native Johnny Brown.

The Army Private was killed in a vehicle accident in Iraq while serving with the 101st Airborne.

Family members say they are proud of Brown's service to his country.

"I think he's going to be remembered just the same as the rest of them," said Shayne Brown, the soldier's brother. "They are all heroes. They all paid the ultimate sacrifice to help protect not only people that living here but the people that are living in other parts of the world."

Brown was the fourth casualty from the state of Alabama to die in the war in Iraq.
