The Kemper County Chamber of Commerce honored its Business and Industry of the Year at its annual luncheon.
Bill Brown's Auto Parts store won Business of the Year. Nokomis was awarded Industry of the Year. Both winners say the Kemper County economy is improving and they want to help all they can.
"We're trying to get some more jobs in here," said Brown. "If people don't have jobs, they can't buy things."
"We've been fortunate that in the four years we've been here we've had some pretty good luck in finding local people, training them, bringing them up to the standards we expect in our product line," said Bill Vultaggio of Nokomis.
The Kemper Chamber of Commerce honors an outstanding business and industry every year.
