It was a normal day at Meridian High School. That is, until we showed up with plenty of pink balloons and lunch for the school's administrative staff. It won this week's Pink Thursday lunch.

On their entry form, these women said they should win because they want to share the information they receive with their female students.

"I interact with young ladies all the time and I try to encourage them to do things like this, even though it states after a certain age," said Angela Turner. "I think, why not start as early as you can?"

Lunch was provided to the entire staff, but first they listened to Lisa Harrison from Riley Hospital discuss the importance of mammograms and self breast exams, and the staff had plenty of questions.

Principal Vicky Hood said she feels certain her students will benefit from this information.

"For me, this is very, very important for our young people to know so we will try to get it to their health classes and a nurse to our students," said Hood.

And this was the goal according to Elizabeth Busby marketing director for Riley Hospital.

"What really got me was not only did they want the information for themselves, but to take it back to their students," said Elizabeth Busbee of Riley marketing.

So if your kids come home asking questions, you can thank Pink Thursdays, which could come to your office next.
