Tuesday students presented the Red Cross almost $2,000, which they raised. Red Cross officials say the fundraiser is part of an ongoing campaign.
"Well, the 'Hero's' program really started last year when we raised $12,000. This year we hope to raise $40,000. All of the money is going to help families locally. Whether it be fire families, flood families, hurricane families, whatever their basic needs are or whatever they need to get them back on their feet is what the Red Cross does," said one official.
The Key Chapter of the Red Cross serves Lauderdale, Clarke, Kemper, Newton, Neshoba and Leake counties.
