A wreck on Interstate 20/59 in Meridian Wednesday morning claimed the life of a truck driver.

The crash happened about 7:00 a.m. near the 157 mile marker. The
18-wheeler left the road and crashed into some trees, then caught fire.

The driver, Fred Starr of texas, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash is unknown, but an autopsy was ordered to try to verify the cause of death.

On Tuesday, a Wayne County teenager died in a single-vehicle crash on a county road.

Authorities said Timothy Kittrell, 18, was on his way to Wayne County High School when the accident happened. Kittrell apparently lost control of the pickup he was driving and hit a tree.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
