Carrie Ponder, executive director of Hope Village for Children, since it opened, has resigned. ponder will be moving to a new job in Oxford.
"It's an agency that provides counseling and referral services to families in crisis," said Ponder. "So I will be doing a lot of the same kind of work here except that we don't have a residential program but I'll be working with families and children who are having difficult times making it in the world and hopefully helping them to do better."
Ponder said her new job will allow her to be close to her children and grandchildren. She leaves her current position at the end of May.
