A federal grand jury has indicted two Meridian men on carjacking and firearms charges.
James Clifton Cole, 24, and Christopher Gordon, 25, are charged in a three-count indictment with conspiracy to commit carjacking, taking a person's car in York, AL, and shooting the person in the neck.
They also face charges of discharging a firearm during a carjacking. Prosecutors say they'll seek the toughest punishment. That would be twenty-five years on the carjacking count, plus ten on the firearm charge. The conspiracy count carries up to five years in prison.
The information was released by the U.S. Attorney's office in Birmingham.
