Meridian's Hamasa Temple Shrine has launched its Annual Vidalia Onion Sale. The money raised goes to the charitable work of the Shriners.
"We sell these and that's what we use to bear the expenses for our children's hospitals and our transportation fund," said Kenneth Breland, "carrying the children to the hospital and taking care of them."
Shriners' hospitals treat burned and crippled children.
The onions will be on sale through Friday at the Hamasa temple ballroom from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a donation of $10 per bag. The event brings in $20,000 each year.
