Meridian police reported receiving a call early Thursday afternoon, indicating there was a bomb threat at northwest junior high school in meridian.
Dr. Sam Thompson, Director of Public Safety for Meridian Public Schools, said call was a hoax.
"After calling the school, we found out there was no bomb threat at the school, so we then came over as a precaution and cleared the school," said Dr. Thompson. "Everything appears to be fine."
Students returned to class within a short time. A bomb threat is a felony. The district prosecutes cases where a suspect is identified.
