A colony of honeybees took up residence on a plastic sign in the parking lot of the Chevron on 29th Avenue in Meridian.
A truck driver notified police officers, who kept people away from the swarm until animal control officers and the extension service could arrive to take the bees away.
Police Officer Ricky Roberts said the bees did not sting anyone, but he also warned that they could have been very dangerous if someone had disturbed them.
