BROOKLYN, Miss. (AP) -- The Forrest County Sheriff's Office says a house fire killed one person early Saturday.

Capt. Glen Moore, who's the parish's fire investigator, says four other people escaped from the house in Brooklyn, about 10 miles south of Hattiesburg. But he says the body of a male was found in a back bedroom.

The name of the dead person is being withheld pending confirmation and notification of next-of-kin.
