Seventy five senior citizens got a taste of a warm Thanksgiving meal early this year when they turned out for the annual Elks Lodge of Meridian Senior Citizens Pre-Thanksgiving luncheon. This is one of the many service projects for the organization in which they give back to the community.

Club members say it's important that people find something to be thankful for everyday. The group wanted to focus on the elderly who may not be able to cook for themselves this holiday season.

"When you grow old, older, we don't like to cook very much, but we still like to eat. And um, this will give them the feeling that they remember serving with their families and cooking," said Laura Jordan, Daughters of Elks/Elks Lodge #551.
